Collar, silai, buttons aur kapde ko dhyan se dekhiye. Sirf upar wala piece nahi, carton ke andar se bhi sample dekhiye. Ek piece dhokar shrinkage aur rang check kijiye.
A shirt that looks fine on the shelf can fail after the first wash. Before you buy in bulk, check a sample properly — and check pieces from inside the carton, not just the top one.
1. The collar
- Both sides should be the same shape and size when you fold the collar.
- The collar should lie flat, with no bubbling or wavy edges.
- Press the collar between your fingers: it should feel firm and even, not stiff in patches.
2. Stitching and seams
- Stitches should be even and straight, with no skipped or loose stitches.
- Check the shoulder, side and hem seams — pull gently to see that they hold.
- Look inside the shirt for loose threads and untidy finishing.
3. Buttons and buttonholes
- Buttons should be firmly attached and matching in colour and size.
- Buttonholes should be clean, with no fraying.
- Button the shirt fully and check that the placket sits straight.
4. The fabric
- Feel it: it should suit the type of shirt — soft for casual, crisp for formal. See our fabric guide.
- Hold it against light: the weave should look even, without thin or thick patches.
- Colour should be even across the shirt and across pieces of the same design.
5. Size and measurements
Lay the shirt flat and measure chest and length against the size label. Different brands label sizes differently, so ask the supplier for the size chart of that brand.
6. Prints and embroidery
For printed or embroidered designs, rub the print lightly and stretch the fabric a little — the print should not crack or peel, and the embroidery should not pucker.
7. A simple wash test
Wash one sample piece following its care label. Afterwards, check for shrinking, colour bleeding and whether the collar and seams hold their shape. This one test tells you more than any sales talk.
Checking at delivery
When the goods arrive, count the packages against the LR copy, and open a few cartons to confirm designs, sizes and condition before you accept delivery.
BazaarPro’s own brands are shown in the catalogue, and you are welcome to visit the counter in Gandhi Nagar to see designs in person.
